[BY ELEOTEIO TELEGRAPH—COPYRIGHT, Reuter's Telegrams. Sydney, September 15. A meeting was held this evening for the purpose. of arranging a second match between Beach and but without result, as Beach had already made arrangements to row a match with Clifford for the championship of the world. The meeting was postponed for a week in order to get Clifford's sanction to cancel the match between himself and Beach, and to enable the latter to make further arrangements with Hanlan.
Melbourne, September 15. Mauritius advices are to hand to August 22nd. Messrs Ireland, Fraser, and Co. report under that date as follows The accounts of the sugarcane crop are favorable, and harvest operations are progressing rapidly, but the arrivals of sugar are slow. The market for freigbfcs is dull. Rates of exchange on Australia and New Zealand are unaltered.
London, September 10. Telegrams from Penang state that the crew of the steamship Nisero (who for seveial months past have been held in bondage by the Rajah of Tenom) have been released, and have arrived at Penang. Sir E. B. Malet, late British Minister at Cairo, has been appointed British Ambassador to tho Imperial German Court, vice the late Lord Amphill.
