in tho ahape of buildings',foncing, and clearing _ Tho section hii''been lot 1 on lease, by auction,; care beings taken v to preserve a portion of bush, and'the' rental obtained is a very fair ono, .■ ~s,. ; ; \ . ■ "Town Acres42,lo6,and.lll havo been let'at a total yearly'tental'of £lO, which jrain will be,deVoteiV'to'} ite schools, in the manner presorftedby.the Act, The old Schoolhbuse has been let on lease to the Salvation Army at a satisfactory rental, and the lessees have altered, the building ih such amsnner as to permanently: improve it, - Your Trustoeshave, during the year,,paid off the mortgage on aoro 89, amounting to £36919s 4d, •;••••'-•'■■■"•- -;
They have also granted a subsidy of pound for pound: on subscriptions iaised towards improving the Park Oval, and as the necessary work has been completed by the Park Trustees, it is confidently hoped that tho town will goon be in possession of a; good recreation ground. "... ..■•.-; : -'
The balance sheet, appended,: furnishes details of t)ie year's grants, and tho statement of assets and liabilities 'shows the very satisfactory credit balance of £46113s 9d,
Your ■ Trustees regret to report that although every; assistance was afforded the Groyfcowh Trustees in preparing the way for' a settlement of tho Town Bolt question, the : latter body has not. yet thought fit to' avail themselves of the privilege they were so anxious te obtain, Yoif will; to-night bb called upon to electa two Auditors in the room of Messrs' \Vilsouo andSellar. '< ; Tho annual election of Trustees will'take place on the 24th inst., when Messrs FeisV and Pcr'ry retire by effluxion of time. : i I.'
