CRICKET.
Clarevule Boys v. Masterton Boys. A team of Clareville boys paid a visit to Masterton on Saturday, to hive a friendly cricket match with a Masterton team. Tho visitors proved the victors by 25 runs after a good match. In Clarevilla's first inuings they were rather unfortunate, only scoring 15, five o! the batsmen making " duck eggs," In the second innigs only one round 0 graced the score, which, tlirousjli the excellent batting of the brothers A, and M. Nicholson, wlm made 1G and 10 respectively, totalled 05; making a grand total of 82. In Masterton's first innings four "duck eggs," were marked down, the acoro amounting to 39, of which ,T. Bambor contributed 21, before being bowlod by W, Nicholson. Tho next innings only reached twelve off the bat, and fivo extras, the bowling of the Clareville boys being very effective, and tour smart catches being made. The following are the scores:—
