THE ASSESSMENT COURT.

To the Editor, Slßj—Yeaterday, the 10th being the day for hearing objections at the Assessment Court, I attended at the appointed hour to object to the assessment on my property, and found a civil case was being heard! I waited in Court for aboi.t two hours, and thinking the oaee might last two hours longer, left for a few minutes to do some other business in the town, When I returned, to my surprise I wiV told that my name had been sailed, the

Highway Board business finished, and tho borough business being gone on with, I applied to the R.M, to enquire tf my case \ could be heard, and was told that business was over. Now, sir, would it not hare been better to have heard the assessment cases first, that being the_ day appointed to hear them, and the civil cases afterwardj, as several people had coma from a distance to have their cases hfl&rd, and wanted to get home again as soon at possible, this being the threshing season! lam&c., Ratepayer. =■ ■.
