A meeting of the Caledonian Sjocjety was held at thp Club Hotel yesterday afternoon. Present—Messrs Val!ance(the President), Fitton, Gray, Livingstone, Brown, Maoara, nnd Pijyton, TIIO Ground Committee brought up a programme, which was approved of, and ordered to bo published. The alterations from last year consist of substituting medals in two or three instances for money prizes, and the addition of a district Volunteer race, a Cadet handicap, and a bagpipe competition. The amount given for prizes last year was in several events made larger for the coining meeting, so that evory inducement will be held out for a successful gathering,

The Spring Meeting nf the Greytown Horticultural and Industrial Society will be held in thp Trurn Hall on Tuesday next, and, as the weather has been everything that could be desired for tj)o gardens, we expoct there will bo a good show.
