NOMINATION FOR WAIRARAPA NORTH

The nomination for the Electoral District North took place in front of|the Court-house, Masterton, at noon this day, Mr J. J. Freith the returning officer having read the Writ of Election Mr E. Feist proposed in a few well chosen words Mr George Beelham as a fit and proper person to represent the district. Mr Dagg, of the Opaki, seconded the nomination, as a representative of an important section of the community, which had every confidence in Mr Beetham-the small farmers. Mr A. Bish proposed Mr Renall as a fit and proper person, on account of his past services to the district and particularly to the town. Mr R. Welch seconded the as an old Hutt settler, who was grJS to Mr Renall for past services. H Mr Renall then delivered an addresflfl the electors and was followed by H Beetham, Ijotli speakers were listenoH attentively, and the returning offiO having called for a show of hands 54 wH held up for Mr Renall, and 49 for H Beetham.
