Hnwkin't, do, £B9' 10a •' Johnston and Smith, £l3O. It was resolved—That the acceptance of ona of the tenders be doferred till the next meeting of the Board. For formation of about 5 chains' between Dry River and Otaraia—Henry Burgess and Son, 9d per cubic yard. For widening road beyond Granniei Creek-Henry Burgess and Son, £l6s per chain For forming 10 chains near Cameron's gate-J. Bond and Son 12 ss. For 3 chains side cutting-J. Bond and Son, 9d per yard. To build » bridge-J. Bond and Son,

Besolved—That Burgess and San's tender be accepted, aud that the wurk referred to by Buiid'a tender be left to be dealt with by Mr Smith, the warden of the district, as he may think fit. The Clerk produced a deed of lease from the Board to Kobert Eobinson jun re the Waiohine roll-gate. The lease was agreed to, and it was resolved that Messrs Tully and Jackson be empowered to affix the seal of the Board thereto, which was accordingly done. Mr Jackson asked to have aculvert and rough bridge erected on Morrison'B Hill road, and permission was granted also to erect a culvert at Poplar Creek, Reran'* road. Mr Donald stated that the work suggested by Mr Pharazyn by letter read last meeting was progressing, and asked that the road on Carkeek's line be improved, permission for this was granted. Mr Matthews asked that a culvert be erected on Western Lake road. Mr Smith asked that a fresh culvert he put m at the first side of the Olaraii cutting. Mr Tully stated that the road to Mr McLood's would be ready in about 14 days, and recommended that an offer from J. Bell to form a portion of road at 10i per chain be accepted, which was acceded to, The following resolutions were passed : That the sum of MO be expended in making a suitable road, commencing between the East Coast road and Mr Wratten's land, on condition that Mr Wratten contribute £25 thereto or less in proportion to the amount required for the work.

That the sum of 120, to be charged half to No, 5 and half to No. 7 Wards, be expended in repairing the road through Mr Tully's land. That a refund of £i 10s be granted to Mr John Tully on account of excessive rates charged, he holding 7000 acres in this district instead of 10,000 acres us charged. TREASURER'S KKPOItT. I have the honor to report that the balance to credit nl Board at Bank of New Zealand is £40510s Id. The receipts since last meeting of the Board have been :- ■ £ s. d. The total rates collected up to data ameunt to 11233 13s 9d, and rates remaining unpaid to £392 10s 9d. The rent of the Waihenga Hotel is in arrear for July, August, September, and the present month.
