ARRIVAL OF THE WAIROA. Wellington.
The ship Wairoa, from London, arrived yesterday morning, after an 83 days' voyage. She brings a number of passengers, and is again under the command of Captain Adams, so favorably known at this port.
MAN DROWNED,
A human body was seen floating in the harbour just at dusk last evening, but it sank before the observers could rescue it,
NATIVE AFFAIRS. New Plymouth,
Native affairs are causing much concern here, and mounted rifle corps are being enrolled at Mania and Opunake, Some scare has arisen from the young men among the natives preparing for a raid on the Armed Constabulary camp, This Te Wliiti prevented, but it is said that to maintain hisintluencohe will haye to sanction some show of hostilities for which the more impulsive among his following are anxious.
Mr Rolleston, the Native Minister, is here, and gives assurance that the Government will provide protection for life and property.
STRIKE. CimisTcnuncH. The Railway artizans struck on Satur day, numbering sixty-ctght.
