PIGEON SHOOTING MATCH.

A Pigeon shooting match, arising out of the last match, took place yesterday afternoon, in Mr Matthow's paddock Opaki. The weather wu.s,boisterous, and the birds a very bad sample, only one flying direct from the trap, the rest requiring to be frightened up with sticks and stones. Consequently the shooting was not firstCMC lUas originally intended to shoot at ten birds each, but the requisite number could not be obtained, so it was reduced to five each. Mr Lister-Kaye pulled it off, with three birds falling to his gun. Mr Tailored shot well, but was unlucky, all his birds being hit hard, but falling oiit of bounds. One bird of his that fell in bounds managed to flutter out before lie could pick it up. The conditions of the match were as follows: A sweepstakes of £5 each, 5 birds, 25 yards rise, 80 yards fall, guns 12 bore, any make, any charge.' Mr Young shot with a muzzle loader, Mr Kaye with a piufire and the other two gentlemen with central fire breechloaders. Another match was afterwards got up between the same gentlemen for a sweepstakes of £l, at two birds each, same conditions, which was also won by Mr Lister-Kaye. The following are the scores
