o A meeting of the Ploughing Match w Committee was held in the Council Chamber on Saturday, at f p.m., Mr M'Donald in the chair, when the following entries were made; Swing : Sam Kraihana, P. Jensen, A. Mutrie, W. Lunnan, and J. Renall. Wheel : Charles DesPorges, W. Ford, and S. Liddington, DomE-Euiffiow. F. Exell, D. Heggie, P. Henderson, T. Cresswell, Edward Jones, A. Irwin, 0. Anketel and G. Penny. Boys W. Day, G. Day, Otene Karaioiana. [The latter entry is subiect to the approval of the Committee. Champion. John Morris, W. Miller and James Roberts. It was stated that Messrs W. Morrison and A. Burnett had kindly consented to act as judges. Messes A. Cockburn, J. Harding, J. Vile and G. Chamberlain were appointed ground committee to mark I I off the lands. Messrs Taylor and Co., J>*gS offerred to run their saloon 'bus during the day to and from the ground, charging one shilling fares, also to take up and bring back the Committee and judges, The offer was accepted. The appointment of a gatekeeper was referred to the Secretary. _ ■ The following stewards were appointed: -Swing and Wheel-Messrs Cockburn and Watson. Double Furrow and BoysMessrs Donald Donald and J. Harding. Champion-Messrs T. and G. Chamberlain. Horses and Harness—Messrs G ray Gapper, and Vile. Timekeepers—Messrs Gray and Gapper. It was decided to invite His Worship the Mayor to take the Chair at the Annual Dinner, and A. W. Renall, Esq., the vice-chair. It was also decided to pay the prizes on the ground as soon as the judges award the same.
