WAITAKI ELECTORATE.
L'AST YEARS’ RETURNS,
The Local Option Poll last year gave 1723 for Continuance, 1223 for Redaction, and 1428 for NoLicense. The country districts have increased their No-Licens« vote. For instance, last year Hook polled 3 for No-License against 30 Continuance, this year 24 against 26. Hunter polled 18 against 52, this year 40 against 40; Waituna 13 against 8, this year 32 against 14 ; Fairlie 119 against 118, now 124 against 97. The Government this year have 46 seats, Opposition 25, and Independent 4. Last year they had 47, there were 17 Opposition, 3 Left Wing, and 1 Independent.
FORFEITS. The following have, according to the latest returns, forfeited their deposit of £lO : —Baynes, Christchurch ; Meyers, Avon; Ager, Ashburton ; * Pulley, Furunui f Bradley, Auckland ; Collier, Hutt; Isitt, Westland; Crawford, Oamaru; Wright, Taieri; McNeil, Clutha ; Kelly, Wakatipu ; Isitt, Thames.
