War Fund Committee.
A meeting of the Waimate War Fund Committee was held last evening, there being present: Dr Barclay (chair), Rev. G. Barclay, and Messrs G. W. Henderson, F. Ohilds, A. Garland, J. Hunt, R. Nicol, H. Middleton and 0. Akhurst. Apologies were received from Messrs Beckett and Douglas.
The secretary reported that several claims on the Fund had been received.
These were dealt with in committee. G. Geddes was granted £253, T. Crawford £llO (£25 of which is already paid), L. Thomas £IOO, J. Goldstone £3O, W. Boone £lO, and a sum of £25 was passed to the relatives of the late Trooper A. Whitney.
