Weddings.

COLLETT-JONES

A very pretty wedding took place yesterday in St. Augustine's Church, when Miss Christina Jones was married to Mr G. W. Collett, both being of "Waimate. The Rev. McKenzie Gibson officiated. The bride's dress was of white silk lustre, frilled train skirt, tucked chiffon yoke and sleeves, the bodice prettily trimmed with silk lace and ribbon 3. She wore a veil and carried a handsome bouquet, and was attended by her neice, Miss Effie Beaton, as bridesmaid, prettily dressed in a cream dress and hat. Mr J. Mines acted as best man. After the wedding breakfast the happy couple drove to Studholme and caught the express for Christchurch, where the honeymoon will be spent. A number of friends were on. the platform to see them off and wish them every happiness in the time-honoured fashion. The bride's travelling dress was of mousaline-a-soie very handsomely trimmed with cream applique lace, glace silk strappings and tiny gold buttons. The costume was completed by a pretty black chiffon toque trimmed with green flowers and lace.

WATTS-RAINEY. On the same day another very popular wedding took place, Miss Kate Rainey being married to Mr H. Watt*. The ceremony took place in St. Augustine's Ohurch, the Rev. McKenzie Gibson officiating. The bride wore a costume of white silk with lace yoke. She wore the usual wreath and veil, and carried a bouquet of native clematis. The bridesmaids, Misses Rainey and Cameron, wore cream nun'a veiling trimmed with insertion and yellowbaby ribbon, and black hats (the gift of the bride) trimmed with black chiffon tips. Mr George Henry acted as best man. In the evening a dance to celebrate the event was held at the house of the bride's parents.
