WASHDYKB STOCK BALE. There was a fair entry of sheep at Washdyke on Tuesday, about 1200, and a small attendance of buyers! The following are quotations :~Two and tourtooth store wo' hers, 11s 9d, 12s to 12s 3d ; aged ewes, 7s 6d to 8s; full-mouthed halfbred breeding ewes, 10s sd; a line of fat ewes passed in at 10s 6J ; good store lambs, 83,8 s 6d, to 8s lid. There was a fair yarding of cattle, most of which w&re withdrawn. Aged cows sold fro.n 30s to £2 10a. ADDINGTON MARKETS. [by telegraph.] Christchurch, Miy 28. There was a fair entry of stock and a good attendance. Sheep.—The yarding of store sheep totalled 5500, and was made up chiefly of good lines of wethers. The sale was irregular and only forward sots sold at all well, a considerable part of the entry being passed. The chief sales were 226 two tooth wethers 12s 9d, 327 at lls 61, 110 at 12s 6d, 500 at 10s, and 111 at 8s : 460 ewes (mixed ages) 9s 41 io 9s 6d, 170 at 9s 6d, 144 (aged) at 4s, 81 lambs at 8s 7d, 296 at 5s Id. There was a small entry of fat lambs, about half of which were of freezing quality, and the best of these sold well, but other descriptions were easier. Freezers made lls 4d to 13s 4d, and 13s 6d to 14s 6 J lor extra; others 7s 3d to 10s Gd. The entry of fit sheep was much smaller than last week, and there was a good proportion of prime freezing sheep There was a good demand for all classes, and freezers were well competed for. Wethersand ewes showed an improvement. Prime freezing wethers made 17a to 19s 6d, and extra heavy wethers to 20g 5d ; maiden ewes 16s to 18s 4d, best aged ewes 12a 61 to 17s 6d, medium 10s 6d to 12«, others 8s to 10s. Cattle.—The supply of be f was made up c f 175 head, of which the bulk were heavy weights, which were slightly easier, but bandy weights sold wed up tola'e rates. Six North Island bullocks which had been finished off by Mr It. W. Chapman, Fernside, made £l3 to £l3 12s 6d, and fourteen heifers from Mr A. W. Rutherford, Brookdale, bruught £8 5s to £9 12s 6d; other steers sold at £6 8s to £lO Ifls; heifers £6 10b to £B, and extra £8 5s to £8 7» 6d ; cow*, £5 5s to ana extra £9, equal to 19s to Jj4s per 1001 b; There was only a medium yarding of store cattle, and a rather dull aa'e resulted. Yearlings sold at 18s, fifteen to eighteen months £2 Sa to £8 8a 6d; two year steers, £4 8s ; three year do, £5 10s ; three year heifers, £4 10a ; dry cow-", 37s to £3 10s; dairy cows made L 4 to £9 2a 6d.

Pigs were sent forward in average numbers except suckers and weaners, of which there were only one or two lots.
