Land Board at Waimate.
There were 26 applicants for 11 sections, comprising 387 acres 2 roods 13 poles, on the Maytown settlement, a mile from Waimate and opposite Mr C. V. Clarke's, yesterday. The Board comprised Messrs Humphries (Commissioner of Crown Land's), McLachlan and Sealey. The applicants wet'9 examined on Thursday and six were thrown out. The balloting did not take long. Applicants were from Canterbury and Otago chiefly. Following is the list of successful applicants :■ — No. 1,50 alr lip—Mr C Ford, Fairfield, Ashburton, at 13s 6d. No. 5,43 alr 2p —James Boyd, Linwood,|Cbristchurch, at 14s. No. 6, 121—Thomas Hogan, Waimate, at 15s 6d, No. 7, 10a—Di.niel Shea, Waimate, at 16s. No. 8, 26a—Arthur Clarke, Waimate, at 15s. No. 9,28 a 2r —Margaret Vaile, Timaru, at 15s 6d. No. 10, 87a lr 17p—Charles Broomfield, South Duftedin, at 14s 9d.
