The Towitta Tragedy.
Adelaide, January 11. At the inquest at Towitta on the body of the murdered girl Bertha Schippan, Mary Schippan admitted improper relations with a man -with whom she had been keeping company at the house on the Sunday before the tragedy. Her parents were absent at the time. Bertha was aware of the occurrence.
The medical evidence proved that there were blood stains on various articles of Mary's clothing. The jury returned a verdict that Bertha's throat waa cat by her sister Mary. [Mary's account waa that a man entered the bedroom, and threw himself across the bed. She struggled With him, and while he was picking up a knife he had dropped she escaped and I ran for assistance.] •"-.'-
