Accidents.
On Sunday morning, as he was rounding up some cattle - near the pound, Mr E. George, the county ranger, was thrown over the head of his horse, which stopped short. The horse was rather badly cut and the rider skinned.his hands.and knees. " ..■*" On bunday morning,; while driving in to church from tlje Huotf, Mr and Mrs Murphy met with a serious accident. While going down the hill on the Waimate side of Mr J. Patterson's the horse stumbled and fell. Both Mr and Mrs Murphy were thrown out, and the latter's arm was broken in two places, while the former was severely bruised and shaken. Mrs Murphv was brought into town and attended to. The horse was badly cut and bled profusely. Mr Murphy has had a run of bad luck recently. About a year ago his son was drowned ; shortly after his house was burned down, and now, as if this was not enough, cornea this unfortunate accident.
