Library Committee.
A meeting o! the Library Committee was held last evening, there being present Messrs W. M. Hamilton (chair), W. I/. Qoo.tt, . J. B. Milaom, P. Grant (sec.) and Advice tfas received that; £97, worth of books had, arrived, and it was resolved to insure the books. A sub-committee,' consisting of ■Messrs Milsom, Scott, Smith and .Grant, was set up to check 4 the books and select those to be put in circulation at once;. The secretary instructed to Asfe for the use of the Council room for storing the books till the new building Was ready. The librarian reported Jhat. very few subscriptions were coming in. Two taxes of books- had come to hand, " • * : J : l
Accounts amounting to £lOl 8s lOd were passed for payment. The treasurer reported that one progresti-payment of £IOO hadbson: paid to-the building contractors. Mt'Milsom brought up the question of the magazine list. Ho thought some change desirable and -suggested that a vote of the subscribers should be taken as to the.magazine to be kept. It was resolved to hold over the matter till the building was ready. . Under the conditions of contract; the building is to be finished by October 81st.
