A. and P. Association.

A special metting of the A. and P. Association was held on Saturday afternoon, Mr 11. Hertslet, President, presiding. A letter was read from the Rail-way-Department, Wellington, with reference to the siding proposed to he erected near tba Show Grounds. The Department would make out a lease for the railway land wished by tbe society as soon as thoy were registered under the Agricultural Societies Act.

The Chairman said they could have a platform erected for about £5, and olher things would cost £2. This matter would be attended to by the committee. To bo registered they required two-thirds of the members of the society to sign a declaration to that effect. Alterations in the schedule as suggested by the committee appointed for the purpose were discussed and adopted. A new rule that no sheep could be shown in two classes except for championship prizes was added. Mr Cowan paid the judges at the late Show had recommended this, and it was adopted after a short discussion.

A new class was added for champion dairy cow. A pony leaping match was added to the horse classes, and in the sundries section a class for home made sundries either eatables or drinkables.

It was resolved to call tenders for the society's printing from the local papprs.. The election of judges was proceeded with.

After a long discussion on the question of judges in the draught horse class it was decided that the meeting should recommend names to the committee, who would make the choice. This method wa3 afterwards followed in the other classes. The following were suggested for the draught horses: Draught Horses: Messrs Jas. Dutbie (Dunedin), Peter Martin (Awamoko), Wm. Stevenson (Washdyke), Jas. Benter (Opohuko), Robert Lochhead (Lincoln), J. Donaldson, Oarnaru.

Light Horses: The names of Messrs J. Grigg (Longbeach), Taggarfc, D. Bacon (Dunedin), Packs (Timaru), H. Bourn (Christchurch), J. King (Timaru), Buckley (Dunsandei), and Saunders ( \ahburton) were suggested, and the Committee are to choose.

Sheep : The names of Messrs W. Grant (Timaru), D. McLaren (Otipua), C. Reid (Windsor), A. Allan (Timaru), F. Wright (Dunsandel) were suggested. Cattle: The names suggested were Messrs J. Donaldson (Oamaru), H. Geaney (Timaru), Hon. T. Y. Duncan, J. Gemmel (Maheno), W. Grant (Timaru). Dairy Produce and Sundries : W. Bee (Oamaru), R. Bowie (Timaru), J. Familton (Oamaru), -and J. McKay. Pigs: Mr Bourn (Timaru) and A. Grant (Oamaru). Dogs : Left to judges of sheep. Class stewards were elected as follows: Sheep : Messrs J. Gowan and T> S. Medlicottv Catilei Meters Ji

Pratt and R. Cameron. Draught Horses: Messrs W. Scott, ft. Andre wa and W. Guildford, Mr B. Whitney to act as Marshall. LigH Horses : Messrs R. G. Baxter, H. J. Wain and C. Studholme, Mr Borrie to »ct as Marshall. Dairy 'Produce: Messrs Mathias and W. L. Scott. Dog« : Same as sheep. An account for £2 was passed, and Messrs A. LeCren and B, Studholme were elected members, of the Association. It was resolved to send a letter of condolence with Mrs Orr, widow of the late Mr R. Grr, who acted as judge for a number of years.
