Accident at Hunter.
On Wednesday lust, a painful accident happened to Miss Rachael Dodd, daughter of Mr John Dodd, an old and respected resident. Miss Dodd was walking along the edge of a river hank, about 12ft high, bordering her father’s land, ami whoa passing round the end of the fence joining the bank some earth gave way, and she fell to the ground, breaking her leg above the ankle. It was some time before Miss Dodd could-attract attention, but when sho had done so every attention was given her, and sn- g il assistance procured from Waimato. At present slie is doing well, but, of course, it will be some time before she recovers from the effects of the aceaD ■' Mr White, worm<g ni the Wairaate Hush, tree-felling, had the misfortune to have his linger crushed by a jamb between two logs. The linger was bruised, and another had a pices crushed off it.
