Reception Committee.
A meeting of the Waimate Reception Committee was held yesterday afternoon. It was decided that the reception of the Waimate members of the Fourth and Fifth Contingents should take place next Tuesday afternoon on the arrival of the express. The men will be presented with medals, and addresses of welcome will be delivered by the Rev. J. Blight and Dr. Barclay. The volunteers and the Waimate Brass Band are to be invited to take part in the proceedings. The question of holding a social in honour of the returning men was discussed. It was pointed out that other Waimate troopers wduld be arriving soon, as there are some among the troops which have just left Bouth Africa. It was therefore resolved to defer the holding of a social until the remainder of the men return.
