Our Volunteers.

The regular fortnightly parade of the Waimate Rifles' was held last evening, 45 members parading under Captain H. C Barclay and Lieutenants Hurst and Jackson. Colonel Moore. Adjutant Poden, and Sergeant-Major Jones were also present The evening was devoted to field exercise under Sergeant-Major Jones in view of the fori-hconfine: celebrations at Christ shurch- Fur positions of lance corporal were competed for by eight members, the winners of the stripe being Privates Clear, Porter, Marriott and Stewart. It was definitely decided to hold a church parade next Sunday.
