Waimate Hospital Board.
Th 1 usual liiontuiy meeting of th(i above was h-dd yesterday, p--.jr-o.tJ-. Messrs Sinclair (chair), Hardte, At.wUl, Sttidholme, Doiigl.i?, Walker and Boss and Dr Barclay. The minutes of the previous meeting were roa I ami confirmed. The -Surgeon's report (showed that three males and three females were admitted during the month, and five males ami two female;* discharged. From Inspector of Police, declining to allow the police to ittend cases in Hie Hospital when3ver necessary. The Chairman said that a case had happened in Timaru where tho police watched the patient, md he did not see why it should not be done here. Mr Walker also thought it the duty of the police. From Oamaru Hospital, enquiring particulars of nursing staff, hours, and number of patients under treatment. The South Canterbury Hospital and Charitable Aid Board noliiied' sending L:Jlo, the quarter's money due. Mr Walker said he brought this matter before the Board and aaked that it be mud quarterly. The Chairman said Miss Beckett, after completing three months' probation, declined. It was suggested re-advertise-ment, but Mr Walker thought tho matter should rest with the other, applicants. It was decided to offer the post of nuree to Miss Dixon. Dr Barclay reported having, in Australia, looked for a chair Suitable for a memorial chair, and was unable to get anything suitable. He therefore left an order for a chair to bo made as per plan submitted. He also thanked the Board for allowing him a month off duty. • The visitors every-
thing satisfactory. Dr Macgreg; r visited during the month and was very pleased with the institution. It was decided to have the fever ward and out-bnildings painted, also to ask the Telephone Bureau for a better receiver. Messrs Atwiil and Sinclair were appointed visitors for the month. Accounts amounting to LIDS f)S 10d were passed.
