The 4078-acre block was about the sains value as that bo ugh c by the Crown. The value put upon the whole property he considered under the selling value. The unimproved value of the property was £13,370, and the ad'litiou of improvements would not reduce the unimproved value. The unimproved vahios were divided as follows:—1050 acres at £1 ss, 1150 at £4, 4078 at £7 10s, 900 at £3, and 737 at £4 9s. To Mr Rolleston: In valuing they took out the good and highest lands and valued them separately. Mr O Callaghan here said to the Bench with a view to shortening the proceedings, that Mr Mercer's block was valued at £IOOO under tho owner's value. Witness continuing to - Mr Rolleston, said there was a vein of high land running through the estate, but this would not be sold separately from the rest. Mr Bolleston questioned the witness at length to get hia opinion as to whether £7 per acie all round was a fair valuation of the largo block. Mr O'Callaghan, addressing the Court, offered to reduce 0s per

The Court retired, and on returning gave a reduction of 5s on the 800 acre and 5s on the IGIB block, making a total reduction of £637. MAKfKIM HIDING. By consent of both parties, A. Carter's unimproved value on 2G3 acres was reduced to £1865 from £18'.)0, and the improvements were raised to £750, an advance of .£250.
