Those who were present felt that it was a moment which repaid the toil of years. We concur with you in the opinion thatUnited Australia will not willingly let die the memorj of great men like Sir Henry Parkes and the Hon; James Service, whose work helped to lay the" foundation of the Australian union. For your personal felicitation I thank you, and as Prime Minister of the Commonwealth I welcome your telegram as a fresh evidence of the spirit of brotherhood that animates all the members of our great Empire."
