Valedictory.
0 On Tuesday evening, Mr A. Hazleton, who has been transferred from the Waimate Post Office to Christchurch, was presented by scholars and teachers of Knox Church Sunday School with a travelling bag. Several of «he teachers and the Kev. Morrison spoke of the good qualities of Mr Hazleton, arid wished him success in his -ew sphere. Mr Hazleton suitably responded. Mr Hazleton was also presented, on Tuesday, with a memento from the staff of tbe Waimate Post Office. The Postmaster, Mr Gourley, made the presentation, telling how sorry they all were to lose Mr Hazleton, on whom be bad always placed the utmost reliance. The recipient thanked the staff for their kind appreciation of his services. Tbe present took the form of a smoker’s companion, containing silver mounted cigar and cigarette holders and a silver matchbox, the whole being held by a morocco bound case. Mr Hazleton left by the express for Christchurch yesterday, a large number of people being at the station to wish him uood-bie and good luck.
