Although the weather is not at aL favourable for this capital game, ihoro wos some very good play on Thursday afternoon, a lair -number of bowlers turning up for practice. Tuo holders of the pair of challenge badges were challenged by Messrs \V. Ooitvnan and W. L. Scott, who ware defeated after a- very closely contested game, the game finishing thus : H. Hertslet, J. P. Smith, 21, beat W. Colt-man, W. L. Scott, 20. The holders have again been challenged by Messrs J. H. Dean and G. V. Clarke.
Numbers are requested to roll up for practice in view of the match with OiV.naru next Thursday. A return match with Oamaru will likely be played on Thursday week, the day of the school picnic there.
The following players are requested to practise for the match with Oamaru next Thursday Messrs Cameron, Hamilton, Bcofcfc, Coltman, Hertslet, Wilson, Atwiil, J. Smith. Manchester, Nieol, Matin, Williams, Dean, Inkster, Clarke, Binnsy, Meuzies, Evans, Mitchell, Dr. Barclay, and Goldstnne.
