Imperial Federation.
London, Feb. 7. The Duke of Devonshire, writing to the ‘ Empire Review,’ says that Imperial Federation is premature, and that any attempt to define unity by pen,, ink, and parchment is more likely to endanger than safe-guard the Empire. He absolutely dissents from the suggestion that the Imperial Parliament should display a greaterinterest in colonial questions, and says that the absolute internal independence of the autonomous colonies is recognised as the condition of the existence of the colonial Empire.
