A CORRECTION.
TO THE EDITOB. Sir,— Kindly allow me apace to correct the conclusion you arrived at
UUiiDUIJ LiiO j in your leader of Thursday last, that I bad severed connection with the men who have "been lighting with me for the past few months foi the ri»hti and liberties of the ratepayers we represent. I thought the motion the Mayor was putiulg to the meeting was the one that the Court costs of the acting town clerk (12s 8d) be paid. I did not discover until ft moment afterwards that it was the wnolo of the accounts that were being passed. I may say that I objected entirely to the items that were under discussion being paid, and had only a minute before voted against Mr Hamilton’s account/ being paid, and which was passed only on the casting vote of the Mayor. 1 You have not recorded this motion at all, however. —I am, &c., John Cameron.
