London, December 50. The Standard's Shanghai corres^poodent states that China has arrested Prince Tuan and Prince Chang on the -borders of the Shansi province. Yuhshien has been ordered to Sing-an-fu, it is beliovod with a view to his execution. It i 3 inferred that China is preparing to concede the Allies' demands for the punishment of an ti -foreign leaders. As China was the offender, the Ministers decided that the Chinese Peace Envoys should call at the Spanish" Legation to receive ths Allies' joint note. Prince Oiifng brought the credentials with Li Hung Chang's, and assured the Ministers of ths Emperor's speedy reply, the ' Court; feeling China's exclusive need of peace ,aud prosperity. Li Hung Chang sent a letter, apologising for his absence, owing to illness. The Boxers on December 20, attacked 100 French marines engaged in searching for arms, 20 miles westward of Tientsin, killing a lieutenant of Marines, A JBoxer village was burned in punishment.
Dec. 27. Missionaries report that Boxers, 85 milee from Pekin, on Deeetnber 21, killedr 12 Catholics and 'burned eight others inside temples. The Southern Reform Party declare that the regular Chinese troops massacred 1500 reformers and beheaded •l^feders in the Yangtsa district Sjjpßw&mber 18.
