Parsons, medical 1 practitioner, was charged wuh having committed a breach of the by-laws by riding his bicycle on a footpath on May 6. Mr Papprill appealed for defendant, and contended that when a doctor was needed for an urgent csse he ought to be allowed to go as quickly as possible. The defendant stated that the case he was riding to attend was of a serious nature, and he found, when he rea6hed the Cain bridge chat there was an obstacle on the road, so he took the path. ' Tte Magistrate said he was quite sure tuat Dr Parsons would not wilfully violate tho law, but ho could make no distinction.
