The Late Explosion. WELLINGTON, Aug. 9.
The remains o£ihe victims were brought to to* a yesterday afternoon, and weie accoided a fnneaal this afternoon, with fall nnhtiuy honouis. There v.'as a veiy large 1 muster of the local peinmnent and volunteei iorces, and thousands of people lined the route of march, which was thioupb thepimcipal streets to Kaion. A filing pairy of 20 members oi the Permanent Aitlileiy headed the procession, followed by the G.uribon 13and, then came three guns of the D Batteiy bearing the lemains. Among those present in the piocession were the Premier and membeis of both branches of the Legislative ; Colonel Penton and Major Madocks, neaiJy all th« military officers in Wellington, and many lepiebentative citizens. FJags were at-half-mast ail over the city, and on the' shipping. Though Head is still unconscious his condition has slightly improved to-day.
