CORRESPONDENCE.
[The Editor does not hold himself responsible for any opinions expressed by his correspondents.] CROSS STREETS AND RIGHT-OF-WAYS. TO THE EDITOn OP THE WEST COAST TIMES, Sin — From a notice of motion brought forward by a member of the Improvement Committee at their last meeting, I see that certain interested parties are endeavoring to close up one of the right-of-ways leading from Rovell to Wharf-street. Now, aside from. all other motives, as one of the best moans of preventing the spread of fire, It is ab. solu'ely necessary that the present, right-of-ways should be left intact ; and in place of having them closed up to suit the convenience of certain parties, who are anxious to get a few feet more frontage, at tho expense of a public convenience, the Government should at once (or at least previous to the sale of ttie land) open up more cross streets in ltovoH-sU'pot, ,ns in the absence of frequent openings, Revell-street, ,in tho event of a tiro, would be swept from end to end. Trusting the Government will see the necessity of maintaining tho integrity of the present right-of-ways and opening others. I beg, to remain yours, ... Onk op tub Fibb Brioadb.
