CALIFORNIA.
-{By Electric Telegraph via Sydney) . We have news to August 19fch, from San Francisco The weekly " Alta California" of that da'e says the crops of grain and pulse are heavier this year in the south than they ever have been known before ; and all the way from Monterey to San Diego more land was sown than in former years by at least double. The Mums generally have been excellent ; and that at any rate there will be no scarcity in 1865 of barley, wheat, hay, corn, and beans. The same enterprise the San Francisco merchants showed which supplied this market between the two crops, and prevented flour from reaching famine, prices, now must-seek the markets of the world for an outlet for the abundant crops which the State has been blessed with, that the farmer may get the reward of his labour. Intelligent merchants of known deputation and tried sagacity notify to the markets of the world at what price grain at certain dates will be placed free on board at San Francisco. The result may be that extended orders may flow in, and relieve the market of what would otherwise be unsaleable, and at the same time save one or two million of gold to the people of the State for other purposes.
