VICTORIA.

(FROM OUR MELBOURNE COBRESPOXDENT ) Tuesday, November 7th. Despite the holidays a good trade business has been transacted during the week. For breadstuffs there has been a steady demand, and imports having ceased, save occasional shipments from New Zealand, prices have continued to rise. Por Adelaide flour not less than LBO per ton is now demanded, and for Chilian wheat, 12a is the price quoted. Kerosene oil has been largely clealt in or export, borne 2000 cases having changed hands at from 3s B£d to 3s 9d for best l>rands. For candles also t^ere has been a brisk demand and a rise of from O.^d to OJd per lb has been established. Ogleby'B, Tvliich were sold iv the early part of the week at 9^l,

closed at 10d, and the Neva Company's agents have fixed their selling price at lid. The demand for oilmen's stores, and for provisions has not slackned, and prices are well maintained. The market has Tieen cleared of <3ork butter, at ls'3d to Is 3id in bond. Cheese has touched Is 3d per Ib, and is scarcely to be obtained. In wines and spirits there has not been so nvaeh done, though there has been one heavy auction sale. Kartell's was parted with at 7s to 7s 3d in bulk and 25s in case. Rum is quoted at 3s 8d in bulk and whiskey from 3s 3d ±o 3s 6d. The intelligence received from San Francisco of a plenteous harvest there, "and the fact which has transpired, that two or three vessels may be expected to drop in from Chili, have rendered the flour market less boyant.
