SUCCESSFUL APPEAL
MOTHERS' HELP SOCIETY A successful street appeal was conducted in Wanganui yesterday by the Mothers’ Help Society, the appeal resulting in the collection of £3B 10s The president of the society, Mrs. A H. McLean, last night expressed hei appreciation of the support accordec the society by the public and the cooperation of the band of collectors. The amounts collected at the various corners were as follow: Post Office corner, £7 6s 9d; Drew’s corner, £5 2s 10ad; Sunshine Milk Bar corner, £3 18s 4d; Pritchard’s corner, £3 5s sd; Ngan Kee’s corner, £5 Is; McGruer's corner, £4 8s 7d; Majestic corner, £.l. 15s 7d; National Bank corner, £1 19s sd; Rutland corner, £4 4s 3d; Gonville, £1 2s Id; donation, 10s. The following people assisted with the collection in addition to those whose names were published on Tuesday: Mrs. Bertha Bates, Mrs. S Smith, Miss Cargill, Mrs. S. Fanthanr Mrs. Speight and Mrs. Harris.
