COMING-OF-AGE PARTY

Mr. and Mrs. J. D. Cameron, Whenuakura, entertained on Saturday evening in the Druids’ Hall, to celebrate the coming-of-age of Mr. Maxwell Hill. The hostess wore white crinkle crepe with a blue waterwaved taffeta coatee. A cake given by Mrs. Edgecombe was decorated with 21 tiny flags and the guest of honour was presented with the traditional autographed key. The toast list was "The Guest of Honour’’ (Mr. C. Hill, senr.—Mr. M. Hill); "Host and Hostess (Mr. C. Hili, junr.—Mr. D. Cameron); “The Guest’s Parents" (Mr. Lord—Mr. C. Hill, sent’.). The dancing programme, which occupied the remainder of the evening, was interspersed by a piano-ac-cordion solo by Mr. R. Christiansen, and a piano solo by Mr. D. Adams. Mrs. D. Ansley supplied the dance music. The guests included Mesdames Barklav, Edgecombe (Hawera), C. Cameron (Opunake), Wilkinson (Taupiarunui), C. Hill, Mitchell (Hawera). Arden (Hawera), C. Lord (Kakaramea), E. Cleaver (Palmerston North), T. Hill (Hawera), Thompson (Carterton), Misses Jean Hill, Hilda Davidson, Lulu Lake, R., M. and A. Coad, J. Nelson, G. Eddie, C. Ellis, Cleaver (Palmerston North), and Mitchell (Hawera).
