RANGIWAHIA NOTES
WAIRAKEI DEFENCE RIFLE CLUB (Own Correspondent) RANGIWAHIA, Feb. 28. Last Saturday the Hyde Trophy was competed for over ranges of 300, 500, and 600 yards. Shooting conditions were fair, although the day was fine there was a very tricky wind. 'Mr. C. Moess proved the winner with a total of 101. Following are the individual scores and handicaps, 300, 500, 600 yards, handicap, and total:—Mrs. C. Moess, 32, 34, 33, 2, 101; S. M. Meads, 33, 34, 21 scr., 98; J. H. Thompson, 32, 33, 32, scr., 97; L. Kronast, 27, 29, 31, 9, 96; R. Thompson, 15, 28, 24, 12, 79; J. Carey, 28, 29, 29, 7, 93; R. Hancock, 27, 28, 24, 8, 87; W. Hyde, 29, 30, 31, 3, 93; R. Kronast, 23, 30, 22, 3, 78; S. A. Meads, 31, 29, retired; K. Carey, 30, 33, retired. On March 11 there will be another competition. SCHOOL JUBILEE Last Saturday evening a dance was held to raise funds for the school jubilee to be held in May. Music was supplied by a professional orchestra. A very successful evening terminated at midnight.
