MARTON RAILWAY PICNIC

SPORTS RESULTS (Own Correspondent.) MARTON, Feb. 28. The Marton Junction railway staff were indeed fortunate in having such a perfect day for their annual picnic, which was held on Sunday at Kakariki. The large crowd of railway people and friends were conveyed to the river by special train and on arrival soon scattered over the grounds for luncheon. The committee, with Mr. Hooker as secretary, had a varied and interesting programme, which they ran off with promptitude and each Oine of the committee attended to their particular item and the afternoon’s races were run according to schedule. The committee desires to thank all who gave assistance, especially Mr. Horne for transport assistance from the station to picnic site, and vice versa.
