MARTON, LEVIN AND TAKARO. The Marton Bowling Club had two engagements over the week-end. On Saturday, the annual fixture with Levin, and on Sunday Takaro visited Marton. Total points: Marton 309, Takaro 307. MARTON BOWLING NOTES. During the week-end the semi-finals in the Singles Champonship were played on the Marton green when H. Rayner beat S. Goebel and R. McMcKenzie beat W. Ashton. The finalists are now H. Rayner and R. McKenzie. On Saturday J. H. Dashwood, G. R. Lovelock and P. Gronn will represent Marton in the Returned Soldiers' tourney at Wanganui. On Saturday next eight rinks from St. John’s will visit Marton for an afternoon game. Wanganui East Club are sending eight rinks to Marton during the coming week-end for morning and afternoon games. A number of “learners” are taking a keen interest in the game, and it looks as if the Marton Club’s membership will show another big increase next season.
