The second day of the Westland Racing Club's meeting was held in perfect weather before a good attendance. The course was in excellent order. The totalisator handled £5202 as against £3648 10s on the second day last year, making the total for the meeting £11,908 10s, as against £8077 10s last year. Results:— Trial Stakes (six furlongs).—3 Rebel Rank. 8.5, 1; 1 Ferriby, 8.12, 2; 5 Knight Commander, 8.12, 3. Also: Metric, Queen Linda, Mada, Gay Hussar. Length each way. Time, 1.17. February Hack Handicap (seven furlongs).—l Malvasia, 8.5,1; 4 Bright Prospects, 8.4, 2; 2 Aggravate, 9.0, 3. Also: Cardplayer, Day Mist, Rebel Queen. Two lengths; length. Time, 1.31 2-5. Provincial Handicap Trot (11 miles) —4 Storm Signal. 1; 6 Chameleon, 2; 3 Wee Pal, 3. Also: Baron Silk, Orby Lad, Janet Gaynor, Lady Ann. Two lengths; nose. A protest against Chameleon for boring in the straight was upheld. Chemeleon was disqualified and the driver suspended till the end of season. Wee Pal was placed second and Lady Ann third.
