FIELD INSPECTED BY NEW AIR CHIEF An inspection of the Wanganui Airport was made on Sunday afternoon by Group Captain W. L. Saunders, M.C., D.F.C., who has been appointed Chief of the New Zealand Air Staff in succession to Group Captain the Hon. A. A. Cochrane. Group Captain Saunders, who was accompanied by Group Captain Cochrane, flew to Wanganui from Auckland in a Miles Witney Straight. Tile officers spent the night in the city and left for Palmerston North yesterday morning with the intention ol inspecting the new Royal New Zealand Air Force station at Ohakea cn route. From Palmerston North the. were to proceed to Wellington.
