MARTON FIRE BRIGADE SECRETARY

DECISION TO RETIRE THIRTY-FIVE YEARS’ SERVICE Mr. Leslie Mclndoe, secretary to the Marton Volunteer Fire Brigade, after 35 years’ service, intends to retire. He made this announcement at a meeting of the brigade on Friday. He was retiring, he said, for health reasons. Mr. Mclndoe said that for 35 years he h*d been elected unopposed to the position, and he felt that the time had now arrived for him to make room for a younger man. In June Mr. Mclndoe will have had 37 years’ service as a volunteer fireman. Members expressed regret at his decision to retire from the secretaryship, but hoped that he would retain his membership as a brigadesman.
