WOMEN’S INSTITUTE
MOSSTON MEETING Mrs. Stilborn (president) presided over a large gathering of members of the Mosston Women’s Institute, held last week. The meeting opened in the usual way and members and visitors were welcomed. Regret was expressed that Mrs. Siddalls was leaving the Institute owing to her early departure for Auckland. On behalf of the members, she was presented with a small memento by Mrs. Stilborn. who wished her good luck in her new home. Mrs. Franklin received a baby spoon for little Judith. Members are reminded to bring along new suggestions tor the institute's new year. The
Golden Thread talk was on Dame Melba, given by Mrs. Tipper. Miss McCarthy, and assistant, gave a very instructive talk and demonstration on first aid. The competitions were won as follows: Dahlia, Mesdames West 1, Travers 2, Brodie 3; cakes, Mrs. Harre 1, Mrs. Tipper 2. The hostesses were Mesdames McFarland, Marre, Brooks, and Atkinson (junior).
