PATEA PLUNKET SOCIETY

Advice was received from head office at the Patea Plunket Society’s meeting last week that Miss Ogden was to take charge of the Plunket rooms at the Centennial Exhibition, and in the meantime her services were available to help Miss Fitzgibbons. Head office suggested that it would be a good plan for Miss Ogden to speak at annual meetings. It was decided Lo have Miss Ogden at Patea on Mayle. Reference was made to the death of Mrs. J. N. Anderson’s mother, members passing a motion of sympathy. Mrs. C. V. Whittington’s resignation was accepted with regret. It was decided to send £5 to the Mildred Newcombe Memorial Fund, all Taranaki branches having been asked to contribute, the suggested memorial being in the form of a ward in the new Karitane Hospital to be built at Wanganui. The annual donation of £5 to the Wanganui Karitane Hospital was passed. Mrs. J. N. Anderson was elected to the executive in place of Mrs. C. V. Whittington. The House Committee’s report was held over till next meeting. It was reported that Miss Grieve, the new Plunket nurse, was to take up duties on Monday last.
