TASMAN FLYING-BOAT THE AOTEAROA LAUNCHED OTHERS TO FOLLOW [By Telegraph—Press Association—Copyright] (Independent Cable Service). Received Feb. 22, 5.5 p.m. LONDON, Feb. 21. The Aotearoa, which is the first of the flying-boats for the Tasman service, was launched on the Medway for trial flights this week. The launching of this machine will be followed quickly by those of the Australia and the Awarua. Each will have a range of 2000 miles, with accommodation for 17 passengers and mails. They will be able to take off with a load of 20J tons, compared with 18 tons in the case of the ordinary Empire flying-boats.
