HEAVY SCORE
South Africa Takes Advantage FAVOURABLE WICKET GOOD LEAD OVER M.C.C. JOHANNESBURG, Feb. 20. Rain during the week-end had left the wicket sodden for the resumption of play in the fourth cricket Test between South Africa and England, and play was not started until after lunch. On Saturday England had made 215 and South Africa 11 for no wickets. The home team's score was taken this afternoon to 249 for three wickets (Melville 67, Mitchell 63). Melville and Van der Byl were steadily aggressive. Verity and Wilkinson bowled many loose balls. Melville was caught in the slips from an outswinger and Van der Byl, immediately afterwards, was bowled, the two wickets falling with the score at 108. Both Mitchell and Rowan were missed early. This pair added 100 runs in 85 minutes.
