TAXATION REVISION
COMPLETE CONSOLIDATION AMENDING LEGISLATION HON. W. NASH'S STATEMENT [ Per Press Association.] AUCKLAND, Feb. 18. Revision of the basis of land and income taxation in New Zealand will receive the attention of Parliament during the coming session. A statement to this effect was made by the Hon. Walter Nash before leaving Auckland for Wellington. “The Land and Income Tax Amendment Bill and probably legislation for the complete consolidation of the taxation system in the Dominion will be dealt with this year,” he said. “The report is all ready now and there should be no delay when Parliament is able to give consideration to the matter.” Mr. Nash indicated that the taxation system had been thoroughly examined and it was the desire of the Government to place land and income taxation on a more equitable footing.
