MARTON MINIATURE RIFLE CLUB

(Own Correspondent.) MARTON, Feb. 20. The annual meeting of the Miniature Rifle Club was held last evening Mr. W. Rankin presiding over an attendance of 20 members. An apology was received from F. J. Soler. On the motion of Mr. P. Friedrich the annual report (in yesterday’s “Chronicle”) was read a.nd adopted. The year's working showed a credit balance of £6 17s with the club in possession of assets to the value of £5B. The election of officers resulted: Patron. Mr. A. H. Hawke; president. Mr. W. Rankin; vice-presidents, Messrs. E. B. Gordon M.P., A. Way, W. B. Langstone. C. H. Gower, R. A. Church, C. S. Beechey, F. Wood. J. Hammond, J. Gordon, and A. T. Gatre]]: secretary, Mr. A. Clarke; honorary members, Messrs. F. J. Soler. W. Rankin. A. Clarke and J. Simcox; treasurer, Mr. J. Simcox; club captain, Mr. J. Hammond; vice-captain, Mr. P. Friedrich; range officers, Messrs. A. Jackson. D. Hamer, D. Gray, G. Griffin, B. Kendall; markers, Messrs. A. Taaffe and A. Clarke; coaches, Messrs. W. Rankin. J. Hammond and P. Friedrich; handicappers, Messrs. P. Friedrich and F. McConkey; delegates to Manawatu Association. Messrs. W. Rankin and J. Hammond: auditor, Mr. A. J. B. Sicely; executive committee, president, secretary, treasurer, club captain and vicecaptain; general committee, executive committee and Messrs. R. Lewis, E. Lewis, E. Livinestone, J. Emmerson, C. Hamer, D. Hamer. D. Gray, B. Kendall and K. Anderson. It was resolved to start the season on March 20. The executive committee was left to finalise the building-in of the range.

The. meeting decided that championship points would count the same a slast year i.e. best 20 shoots. The subscription was fixed at 5s for seniors and 2s 6d for all those under 16. It was decided to place on record the thanks of the club to the various gentlemen who have given donations. It was resolved tn canvass for new members, both active and honorary. It was left to the committee to arrange an entertainment for the lady supporters. After discussion the meeting closed with a vote of thanks to the chair.
