WOOL AT NAPIER TOP PRICE FOR 44’$ COUNT BRADFORD AND CONTINENT BUYING FREELY [Per Press- Association. | HASTINGS, Feb. 20. Sellers again experience a firm market at the third wool sale of the season held at Napier to-day. An offering of 27,500 bales came before a full, representative bench of buyers and there was keen competition, with Bradford and the Continent operating freely. The majority of the wool was only average type, many lines being discoloured and showing signs of adverse weather at shearing time. The coarser classes of wool attracl cd most attention among buyers <iac? to this type of wool went the highest price of the day, namely 14id. This was for a line of coarse 44 s. A further line of CC fleece wool 48 s in quality, realised the next best price, 14Id. The best price that could be obtained for Lincoln wool was 13d. A number of lines reached to 12d and 12id for superverossbreds, and fine crossbreds ranged from 102 d to Ilia, and medium from 9d to 104 d. Some lines of lambs wool were offered and made from 9d to 12id, with an average price of 9id. Hogget wool reali ised from 9id to Hid. There was a steady demand for necks and pieces and prices ranged from 9d to 10id and from 7id to 94d respectively.
